Emma was born in Mount Isa and spent most of her early years in Brisbane. Emma trained at Griffith University, Mt Gravatt QLD. After she completed a post-graduate year at St Andrew’s Brisbane in Operating Theatre and Recovery, she spent the next 5 years working in Oxford UK. Emma returned home for a career direction change and completed her post graduate certificate in Paediatric Intensive Care at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Brisbane. Emma decided to return overseas for more work experience and to do more travelling. Emma spent the next 6 years at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London working in the children’s intensive care unit and then moved on to quality improvement within the Intensive Care Unit. During her time overseas, she was fortunate to have travelled extensively throughout Europe and most importantly, met her husband! After they married, they decided to move back to Australia for a new start and their little girl was born three years ago and is the most brilliant thing in their lives. Tired of shift work, Emma decided to give practice nursing a try and loved it working for the last five years in Toowoomba as practice nurse, nurse supervisor and nurse manager. She has just relocated to Yamanto with her husband and daughter and is excited to continue her career in practice nursing. Emma has a special interest in children’s health and health promotion.
